Collective fire-fighting water supply

The largest ever in the Netherlands

The park management services include a collective fire-fighting water supply. The system supplies fire-fighting water for sprinkler systems, fire-fighting cannons and fire hydrants on the site. With two water reservoirs, each containing 1600 cubic metres of water, the largest in the Netherlands – there is more than enough fire-fighting water for the entire business park.

This collective fire-fighting water supply consists of a system of pipes laid throughout the site, a water supply and a system for moving the fire-fighting water from the storage tank to the various business premises. In case of fire in an adjacent building at XL Businesspark Twente, the fire-fighting system supplies water to the sprinkler system in that building and to the fire hydrants on the site.

XL fire-fighting system

The collective fire-fighting water supply can supply 825 cubic metres of fire-fighting water per hour at a minimum pressure of 10 bar at every possible building extension. It can justifiably be called an XL fire-fighting system!

Multiple applications

The collective fire-fighting water supply can be connected to multiple fire-fighting systems:

• Sprinkler systems (such as wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and ESFR)

• Sprinkler systems with foam admixture

• Fire-fighting cannons

• Hydrants located around the building

Water supply

The system also supplies water to XL Businesspark Twente. With two water reservoirs, each holding 1600 cubic metres of water, ? one of them used as backup ? the business park has a huge fire-fighting capacity. Moreover, the capacity of the collective fire-fighting water supply is large enough for the use of an active class ESFR14 sprinkler system for sixty minutes together with the use of one hydrant for four hours.
