For big plans!

Buiting: “Still very happy with our branch at XL Businesspark Twente”

“The size of the plot was the deciding factor for us when we were looking for a new location in the Twente region. XL Businesspark Twente was the only business park with the kind of space we needed – more than two hectares,” says Director Louis Buiting.

Given the company’s plans to produce and transport larger elements in the future, it was essential for Buiting Machinebouw & Staalconstructies to have a large plot. “Good access was another crucial aspect,” says Buiting. “Because of our ever larger production figures, transport by water is becoming more and more important. So having a loading and unloading dock on the site will be a huge advantage. And work on the quay is now well under way. A good transport flow is very important for us. We’re currently involved in talks with XL Businesspark Twente to see how we can improve that even further.”

Past successes
Buiting has many plans for the future thanks to earlier successes with the company’s large production location at XL Businesspark Twente, among other things. “In 2012, we were awarded the National Steel Prize in the Non-residential Buildings category for our contribution to the new platform roofs and raised walkway for Arnhem Central Station. And more recently, we manufactured huge lattice trusses, 8 metres wide and 50 metres long, and transported them directly by exceptional transport from Almelo to Rotterdam. That wouldn’t have been possible at our previous location in Borne. But it wasn’t a problem here in Almelo.”
